MALO HEATS UP FIRE FETE 5

Malo went to Trinidad to pick up his Canadian visa and also
to meet with some artistes over there. In Trinidad we had met
with 4 radio stations and the ceo of synergy tv. We spoke to 3
artistes there to work on some collaborations. 2 were on their
way to performances in the C'bbean and 1 confirmed. She will
be coming to Guyana early May to work on the song. This will
be a good step as Wildfire Productions' Jonathan Beepat has
arranged it to be done under a Guyanese Producer, Guyanese
writer (Malo), recorded in Guyana, and then the music video will
be done by a Guyanese crew Wildfire Productions.

When Malo came to Canada it was his first international
experience. His performance was at no small party but the
Fire Fete 5, one of Toronto's biggest indoor party at the Koolhaus.
He was backed by the uniy band which lead vocalist is none other
than Samantha Grant, another Guyanese who is more popular for
"I want you to rock me body". At band practice the day before the
event Malo rocked the band room bringing real heat to Cold Toronto.
The band members were amazed with Malo, especially since he
was Guyanese and they weren't sure what Guyana could give.
Even the Bajan road march and soca monarch remarked at his
energy and zest.

The night of the Fire Fete 5 Malo came out to screams of the
Guyanese posse, which was a pretty large contingent. The only
unfortunate thing was that the crowd were not familiar with his
music as with the other artistes, but nevertheless, he was able to
move the crowd with his energy. Something the promoters were
not so sure that he would have done as he is a first timer here in
Canada. Malo's performance was energetic and moving, as is
customary with him, and he enjoyed himself as well as gave the
crowd a little interaction event. He was all over the stage, doing
his trademark splits and taking off his shirt for the ladies pleasure.
Overall, his performance was good but would have been better
received if the music had gotten out there sooner for the people
to know. The promoters were impressed and have already lined
up some more jobs for him in Toronto during the Caribana season.
However, the most pleasing was the comments made by promoters,
dj's and artistes alike... that Malo reminds them of a young
Machal Montano.
